Ontology Specification Draft

Abstract

OntoSim-Dis represents disease simulation models: their structure, their paradigm, compartmental or agent-based, their parameters and their execution. It also describes what each model represents: the disease, with its health states, its transitions and what governs each transition, and the context for which the model was built.

OntoSim-Dis - complete ontology: Description back to ToC

The complete OntoSim-Dis ontology, an ontology of disease simulation models. This file contains no term: it imports the nine modules and carries the metadata of the whole. Its central distinction concerns risk: does the risk of a transition depend on the number of individuals in some category, as in a transmissible disease, or only on the individual? The modeller describes a model and the disease it represents; the reasoner infers whether the disease is coupled to the population, and whether the model realises that coupling.
